Looking Ahead

A Farm-to-Township distribution network connecting agricultural supply with township markets across Gauteng.

Why Farm-to-Township?

Connecting Two Important Parts of the Food Economy.

South Africa's agricultural sector supplies an extensive network of food markets, while township businesses serve consumers who depend on accessible, competitively priced food.

Between these markets lies an opportunity to improve how products are sourced, aggregated and distributed.

About Modu Mayo

Our approach

Modu Mayo's Farm-to-Township model seeks to connect these parts of the value chain through commercially sustainable distribution, working with farmers, established suppliers, traders and other industry partners.

Our experience supplying food traders in Mamelodi provides a practical foundation for developing this model.
